Hi. I am taking a blog pause at the moment. Till then.

About and FAQ

Hi, if you want to ask anything about me and my blog, you can ask me in blog comment or e-mail and then I will write the answer on this page as well. Going to be honest with you, I am a bit confuse to explain my self in words on a page. I have tried to make about 29 about pages lol it's ridiculous I know.

The Blog

Chachamisu is a photo blog where I blog my sensorial encounters. It is as well my way of self-expression. Colors, geometry, texture, shadow, light, vintage object, memorabilia, trace of personal style, strange thing but beautiful in a way are what my eyes drawn to and I'm inspired by while I'm swaying along my winding path.

About Me

I am Nataya a.k.a Chacha a.k.a Enchan, From the home of volcanoes to the land of Alps, born and raised in Indonesia, married and living in a small town of Austria.

I am not a professional photographer and far far away from being a master of technique. My photos are usually impulsive snapshots quite alike. I take photo with whatever camera available, most often with my digital pocket camera (compact, point and shoot, small handheld or whatever you may call), and that is not even the fancy one. I don't restrict my self to achieving a certain image quality when taking photos.

Below are my answers of questions I've been asked.

Where do you come from?

I come from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It's a city in Java Island which is rich in culture and art, craft, a lot of students and mmm...food (international or traditional from all over Indonesia)! You can enjoy city life or rural life, You can experience modern or traditional culture. If you want to escape to mountain (volcano) or beach, neither both take long to get there! I used to go everywhere with my old bike I called "Moto-cha".

What is the best of living in Austria?

Since I come from tropical country, I really enjoy 4 seasons especially when the weather is nicely cool and full of colors in early spring and autumn, as well as the surreal snowy winter. The Alps landscape is breathtaking, with clean air and clean water. I like the vintage buildings, traditional architecture, beautiful farm houses, traditional clothing and I love the fleamarkets here!

From my point of view Vienna has interesting diverse street style (I've heard opposite opinions about it). I can spend time there just watching people passing by, hence I don't live in that city.

What camera you use? Do you use analog?

I currently use mostly Canon PowerShot A 720 IS, a relative old point and shoot camera bought in fleamarket, and Canon Ixus 105, a pretty simple pocket cam given by my mom. I am a lucky girl. The first mentioned has been not in its best condition. It has manual mode although it doesn't produce RAW file.

Basically I use whatever camera I have in hand. In the history of my blog I had been using various handphone cameras, digital pocket Ben-Q DC C750 (broken), D-SLR Nikon D-70, Nikon D-300 borrowed from my husband, that one if I wasn't too lazy to carry it around. I don't use analog except if you see here some scanned photos from the old time.

How you edit your photos?

I usually edit or retouch images with Photoshop. I like to try some software or online editor too like Pola, Poladroid and Pixlr-o-matic as well as mobile apps like Instagram, Pixlr, Photogrid, Fotor, etc. A photo I like doesn't have to have a good sharpness or clarity (to my advantage, as I only take snapshot most of the time). The photo may be over processed, blur, crappy or whatever. It's about the mood, what I like and feel the moment I edit it, specific elements, trial, error, and having fun too.

Is Chachamisu, the name of your blog inspired from Tiramisu?

Yes, it is. I like Tiramisu. I wish my blog would be like Tiramisu, tasty layer by layer, scoop by scoop! Or...it can be also like "Chacha miss you" :). Chacha is my nickname. My sister gave me a name Chachalotta. I used it for my very first blog and handcraft label long ago. Unfortunately I've deleted that blog.

Thank you. Wish you a super inspiring moment :).
